download the klite codec pack and all your problems would be solved.
Or you could just turn on your monitor and not just the speakers...

Search and download VLC Media Player. A free open-source media player thats plays 99% of everything.

If your having problems getting files to work. Try downloading VLC media player. It will play almost any file you can imagine. Files that wont work for some players usually work for VLC. If the file wont work on VLC chances are its a bogus file.
You can easily find VLC media player for download for free by googling it. Its a very small download an install
