jonnyb...

not quite sure what the prob you have is. It works like any MapSource software. install and run Mapsource and choose an area to upload to GPS.

Not sure about POI (points of interest) feature. I thought you entered your personal POIs on the map area you wanted to use and chose to upload them along with the map area to a GPS so that you could navigate the map using personal chosen points or routes. It should easily do that along with getting them back from the GPS along with your track trail.

Sorry but the only thing ive put on my garmin is some speed cameras so i am not familiar with garmin software Do i need something else to be able to use this as after installation it gives no option or means to run.Sorry for being so dim but i do appreciate your patience :+

No probs.

After installation run the MAPSOURCE link in your My Programs list of installed software. Mapsource is the software that allows you to choose what areas of a map to upload to your gps.

From Mapsource you can select an area and then upload that area to your garmin gps unit, which should be connected first (either via USB or if an old device like mine, via serial port). That's how it is put onto the gps.

The data doesn't appear to contain any footpaths or have any routing capabilities like CityNavigator, just point to point direct routes. Where are all the public footpaths, surely that is the only reason to buy the topo version over the navigator?

Ditto to above, tried to use mapsourse but it said cant use img files with it ? lolshame as looked good :(
anyone else figured a way to run it ?

i downloaded a metroguide torrent which requires no activation or any other codes, all of the garmin maps use the mapsource program, when i installed the mapsource program the metroguide maps and the previously downloaded from here os maps were automatically available, and both work fine on my gps

cadab is correct. This software runs ok ;)

Extra details...

1) Install program. Run MapSource. Select a map area. Setup GPS in Mapsource. Copy map area to GPS.

2) You need GARMIN GPS (NOT a PocketPC GPS,or in-car type GPS).

3) The maps are fully cracked.

4) To use these maps on a PDA/PPC get: 'PTG-MAP' from 'PPCwarez' website!
5) The files with the extension of ".IMG" are the actual UK maptiles. You can use these independently of the MapSource software (use freeware program IMG2GPS.EXE for this).

Enjoy, RAGDOLL :)

Apologies for any problems with this torrent, fellas. :?

I am not sure why it has given problems but I will repost this software again in the next day or so as a NEW, fresh torrent (not this torrent). I will make up the fileset again from new so any problems you might have encountered will not re-occur. ;)

Hi, Thanks for the post. :)

I probably do something wrong, but I don't see any footpaths or tracks in the map (like comment 5). Can you help me? :?

This is a modified copy of Topo GB 2. It does not contain the full detail - some footpaths are lost, no shading and routing is not possible. The full version which is about 1.44GB is avialable elsewhere.

Thanks for your reply!

I tried to find the full version, but I can only find a locked version. Can you tell me where I can find a unlocked one.

There are ways available on the internet to unlock Garmin products eg jetmouse.

Can someone please talk me through the setup process. Only just got the garmin, not sure if I've got mapsource and only have a load of .img bitmap files from the download and don't know what to do with them.

Thanks
