I'm getting the same 'insert correct CD-ROM' error... and have absolutely no idea what to do

mmhh.. I downloaded it and it worked without any errors although I'm using WinXP... maybe you should try the 'Programmkompatibilitätsassistent' (sry, don't know what it means in english)...

I heard that the original black and white, does NOT work on windows XP. maybe this torrent is different, but the disc version doesnt work

Musicman, there's a keygen in the file, look for kg somewhere in the file name.

The game downloaded really fast for me. I had a trouble trying to get Virtual Daemon to work, but I got lazy, made a copy onto a DVDRW 
, and then got Alcohol 120% just for the hell of it. Eventually, my comp was able to read the disk I made, so I installed the game, put in the keygen code, and then put the runblack.exe in the Lionhead Ltd. folder in my program files. Loaded up the game again and it's working beautifully. Plus, I have Windows XP. 
I'm downloading Creature Isle as I type, cause c'mon! This game is pretty awesome!
But I am sad how much better and easier it is to move in BnW 2...

This game is working perfect for me on xp. all i did was mount with daemon then install . then i put the crack in and it works perfectly

the original black and white runs fine on windows xp, thats what i have and its worked fine for over a year without haveing to go to program compatability, only reason im downloading now is i broke my installed game and my disks scratched so i cant reinstall it data2.cab has an i/o error from my dvd drive,
if your cinematics are laggy then your processor is ****.
it works fine on windows me with no graphics card and a pent 3 processor.
the game is pritty good, iv nirly killed nemmesis on the last lvl hes only got 1 village left with only half of his followers i mega blasted the lot lol.

Hey guys, I've noticed many of you are having issues after installing the game. Usually when the game asks for the CD, and your disc emulator isn't working (Alcohol 120%, Daemon Tools, etc.), the easiest thing to do is to get a patch. A No-CD/DVD patch. The way I get them is simple. Go to google.com, in the search bar type the name of the game, followed by NO-CD. [i.e. "black and white no cd"] I usually click on the links for either gamecopyworld.com or gameburnworld.com . Both of these sites tell you exactly how to use the "No-CD \ fixed .exe "

When i get started the games all messes up. THe sound is alright but i get alot of colours on line where the hand is. Anybody got a clue what i got to do to solve this?

the game is running, but i can't play it cause after the scene of the parents asking for help & after the line "that god is you" the game always stop... and the task manager always say that black and white is not responding... can anyone help me out? asap... pls.... pls... pls... thank you!

Downloading now, I've never played this before, but my computer is not overly powerful and this is supposed to be good lol
It's going alot faster than some other torrents where I get a download speed of like 15kbps xD

ok this is the simple way to play...
1. download the no cd patch from: http://www.gameburnworld.com/dl/dl.php?file=BlackAndWhitev1.0NoCDFixedexeUSUK.ZIP
2. open it with winzip or winrar
3. extract the runblack.exe into the program files folder or wherever you installed the game
4. Play
this is the best option on xp, dtk about vista, thanks Gummari

Okay here is my problem, i downloaded the game all fine. Installed it whit no problems.All good for now but when i start the game it says No Cd detected. So what do i do, i go look for a No-Cd patch/crack. I copy the file to the black and white ltd folder its says do you want to overwrite so i say yes. Boom all is okay. Now i sart up the game again but now i have an error message ::::::::: Le point d'entrée de procédure ?Initialise@LHDebugstack@@QBEHXZ est introuvable dans la bibliothèque de liens dynamiques LhLogR.Dll ::::::::::::

so now i try to patch up the game, so i go to the official site and download all the patches avaible.my game is now at v1.3. I go download the v1.3 no cd patch/crack and put it in the black and white ltd folder. now when i start the game it says ::::::::this application could not start because P5DLL.dll cannot be found. The reinitialisation of this program may fix this problem ::::::::::::::: So now im ALL lost. i dont know what else to do. And lost of people here seems to have the game working so if some could tell me what i did wrong i would be appreciated here is my mail Dist_minded@hotmail.com mail me or answer please and thanks.

Hi i have a problem too. I have installed the game, cracked it fine. But when im try to start the screen turns to black, and it does anything. In a while it shuts down self. I tired to run it whit run as... than :error you need direct x 7 or better to play. I have 9.0c... Please help!!!

aswell as a bunch of other people i have a problem with saving... i can save everynow and then but if i play for more than half anhour itll eventualy crash and will go back to the first save from when i started playing which is a long time ago.... so i started just saving a bunch so when it crashes not much would be lost.... but when i first met khazar and built a wonder i saved and it crashed again...(go figure) but now when i try to open the game up to continue playing till the next crash it wont evan load up! it gets to game loader and freezes and i have to restart my computer... its not a graphic card problem or a processor problem it just wont stop ... commiting suicide
wtf??? any help?

Ok, I've downloaded this and played for a few days. I've found out this is not a good release, for a few reasons: Save and load wont work properly. You save the game, but after a while, the saved file disappears. The same happens with the custom options settings: It might even work for a time, but after a time it resets to default. Plus, my creature is not growing: it is exactly the same size as when I started the game.
I am currently trying to update this with the official patches and addons from lionhead (seriously, the patches add a LOT of new things, you guys should try it out). I might post the results later.

I just got a game over in world 4 and noticed my save game files were deleted. Now I gatta start over!
Everything else works fine though.......
