This is the 2nd download I've tried from Skullptura and neither have worked. They don't even unrar, and yes I have the latest 3.7 version, and yes I know what I'm doing as I've done this loads before. Just get a file is unrecognised or damaged error. Any ideas as to why none of his stuff works for me? Running 64bit Vista Premium edition. P.S. will still seed even though p****d off!!!!

hey i fixed the problem, with those with the same problem as mine its just bout updating ur extracting program, i thought mine was fine but it didnt extract all the files, just some of them, which made my game not work, but i updated my winrar and now its working perfectly, very gud download and nice seeding

Your game appears to be working fine apart from the sound... The bit where there are 2 people in front of you on the ramp is what is supposed to happen. You see one figure kill the other then it jumps on top of the shuttle you are in, it tries to get into the shuttle to kill you but then disappears.

The problem you are having with sound may be caused by the hardware or software setup of your machine. Have you tried changing audio options in the games Pause menu?? If this does not work then try downloading new sound card drivers to rectify the problem.

This torrent is much smaller because it's a PC-rip. It does not include other languages, only English.

The game is working, 100%. Before saying it doesn't work, make sure you follow the instructions correctly. If it still doesn't work, then it's either you, or the download was corrupted.

Great upload! And it does work 100% for me, although I have to admit I am always kinda weary when it comes to changing registry files.

To the people who cannot get it to work make sure you:
1) Meet the system requirements
2) You're drivers are up-to-date
3) You downloaded the torrent completely (I know it isnt cool but sometimes you actually have to redownload the torrent)
4) Go back to XP if you can, Vista isn't exactly the best when it comes to gaming, especially if you are running on nVidia

And people, please seed until you have above a 1.0 ratio, therefore others can get the game. DON'T BE GREEDY!

I have yet to see a problem with everyone else cuz' I installed the game in a matter of minutes. I can play the game on medium settings with little skippage and look at my specs (low grade): AMD 64 Dual Core Athlon X2 1.9 Ghz, NVidia GeForce 7000M 64 mb gc, windows vista home edition x32, 1gb of RAM DDR2 . Maybe it's something wrong with your drivers cuz' I upgrade mine to play FEARM, DOOM 3, and Crysis and they all work fine at medium so you also want to try to tune the specs down some too.

Right click on bioshock.exe go to properties compatibility and run in winxp SP2 compatibility mode, do not enable anything else but that and you will now have sound, as far as grafical issues get the latest drivers for your vid card, if thats not it your computer just sux, sorry.

Alright, Finally got game working right no more crashes so far and im on my way to surgery(on the game) This are the correct install instructions for VISTA ONLY!!!!!
after you follow the readme on the file DO NOT install the x86 file or the DX9 file. download the cracked 1.1 patch and install it then the crack, create shortcut, right click it/properties/ on target box put this "C:\Program Files\Bioshock\Builds\Release\Bioshock.exe" -dx9 or where ever you have it installed put a space after the colen add on the -dx9 then go to compatibility and click the box run on winxp comp. mode. depending on your vid card, if u got nvidia go to nvidia control panel/manage 3d settings/program settings find the one for bio shock.

i am getting another crash now after the farmers market when you have to fight sander cohan. if i find a fix ill post it.

i followed the readme exactly and i also tried the cracks mentioned here
the both didn´t change anything
it´s the same problem many people here have when i staft the game the spinning sandclock appeas for 5 seconds and bioshock.exe also appers in processes for that time after that it just appears.

it´s the first skullptura release that didn´t work for me everything else from him works perfect.
could it be a xp x64 problem ?

Here is a detailed list of steps that FINALLY allowed me to play the game on Vista Business (32 bit).
Before you do any of these, make sure you read Skullptura's description so
you know what files I'm talking about.
Don't take the following steps as a stab at your intelligence. I'm just
trying to help people who struggle like me.
1)Extract archive ( use WinRar - www.rarlab.com )
2)Go to "Bioshock\#readme#" folder and install:
"DirectX 9c (2007)"
"Microsoft Visual x86"
3)Run darkcoder.reg file - do this step as follows:
1.Press Start
2.In the "Start Search" bar (on the very bottom)type "regedit"
3.When Registry Editor pops up, click File->Import->darkcoder
(I'm assuming everyone knows how to navigate to specific files)

it didn't work at first, i tried extracting it and winrar said it was an "unknown format" or the file was damaged, then i just got the latest version of winrar and it worked. and im not having any problems right now with anything! thx!

NO SOUND PROBLEM under Vista? here's how i got it fixed:

First, of course, the latest drivers but the key is to right click on 'bioshock.exe', properties, then Compatibility/Show settings for all users
- run program in compatibility mode for: Windows XP (service pack 2)

Then in Security, edit all your users to have 'Full control' over the file. The 'run as administrator' thing wasn't working for me but this is doing it.

I don't know if it has anything to do with it but i got the 1.1 patch on, then cracked.

Anyway, took me a while but i can at least enjoy the game now.

That's exactly what's happening, I can run the game, see the intro, play a little but when I enter the ball going into the sea it just freezes when the picture about the lighter shows up. I've tried all Vista solutions in all 200+ comments but it's still crashing.

Anyone got a solution to this?

- From the start menu, open Settings/Control Panel.
- Select System and Maintenance.
- Select System.
- Select Advanced System Settings.
- Click on the Performance/Settings button.
- Select the Advanced tab

I didnt read the description cos most ripps come in 9x and 10x this game is only ripped in 9x, and its really ****py graphics in direct9 if you have a decent computer this game looks really bad in direct9 and i recommend not wasting your bandwidth on this game and get the direct10 version its much better.. ***YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED***

game works almost perfect except there is no sound in any of the gameplay. Theres sound only in menu, videos and when u are hacking the machines.

Okay, upon running the .exe [which installed fine and runs fine except for sound issues] I decided to read the comments people have left previously. A fix for the sound was to run the .exe as admin, which I tried and then a box appears saying:

This application has failed to start because binkw32.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.

The .dll is in the same folder as bioshock.exe, so I don't really understand why it can't find the .dll, also I've re-installed the application 3 times now and to no avail.

Please help a lowly torrenting noob

@room_237 of course it works in direct x10 you dummy, dx10 is the latest software from microsoft and recommended for bioshock as well as guild wars and the like.

Alright guys I found out how to fix the loading problem. Just go to C:<where u put bioshock>/builds/release then open Default in notepad, go to the bottom of the window and change HighDetailShaders=True to HighDetailShaders=False.

It worked for me, I hope it works for u too!

It works w/Vista Premium X64
w/latest drivers and DX as" Friday April 3rd 4:21 am PST.

I needed to replace the "Bioshock.exe" original file for this one:

Also needed to make a shortcut and add the " -dx9" fix on the target.

And also select the Run in compatibility mode for XP SP2, on the compatibility tab of the shortcut.

Ive got a problem with this game. its simple.
when you inject yourself with that red thing those two guys look at you and run then there comes the daddy with the girl that carrys a huge needle and then POOF game crashes and makes me restart pc I tryed teh DX9 thing new drivers etc and I still get it :/

I've done everything that the Vista users have said (applied 1.1 patch as well as the crack) Made the shortcut with the -dx9 fix, (shortcut the fixed 1.0) And I continue to get an error saying d3dx9_33.dll was not found.. Even though i shouldn't have to with Vista, I went ahead and extracted this particular file from the download and it still says it's not there... Help anyone???

Right click on bioshock.exe go to properties compatibility and run in winxp SP2 compatibility mode, do not enable anything else but that and you will now have sound, as far as grafical issues get the latest drivers for your vid card, if thats not it your computer just sux, sorry.

once it open up, click file, import, then browse to the darkcoder.reg file.

I had a few problems trying to get the game running. This is what I did to get the game working for me.

1. Follow all directions in the torrent's "READ_ME" file.
2. Download the Bioshock update. (This will fix the problems with the game crashing, add a plasmid, etc.) Make sure you chose "v1.1 Patch - Worldwide Retail" from here www 2kgames com / bioshock / support /
3. Now patch the game. (For me, one of the files wasn't replaced because it didn't match the original file. This is okay. Don't worry.)
4. This game is pre-patched as is. But after you update you'll probably need a new EXE. Download crack here. www gameburnworld com. Make sure you download the v1.1 crack. Now, replace the original EXE with the one you just downloaded. It goes in bioshock / builds / release.
5. Play the game.

Thanks to the uploader. Working great for me now.

but the game in itself is a piece of ****...nothing compares to a "dead space" or to a "left 4 dead" or "Devil May Cry 4"...

If you have done everything right (extracted correctly, installed directx and MS visual or w/e, and entered the darkcoder.reg to the registry) and nothing happens when you click on the executable (bioshock.exe I think) try replacing it with the 1.0 (NOT 1.1!!! I'm assuming you haven't patched it and this is a clean skull install) crack from http://www.gameburnworld.com/gp/gamefixes/bioshock.shtml. It worked for me!

Thanks for the upload, game worked fine for me on XP. I just upgraded to vista and now I get the bink32.dll error.

I've tried the following and been unsuccessful:

-Patch game.
-Download and install latest RAD Video Tools.
-Copied bink32.dll from my game's system to every directory in my game directory.
-Copied bink32.dll from my game directory to my OS's system directory.

If anyone has solved this, I'd love to hear how.

Mollster, when you are done downloading a file you begin to share it automatically and that is called seeding. It will slightly slow your downloading speeds which is why some people choose not too but you should always seed a downloaded file for at least 24hrs. that's my rule of thumb. it's just common courtesy ya know. you learned to share when you were little right? haha

hello

i'm having a bit of a problem with this game.

i've incountered 2 problemens 1 is fixed.

the game crashed for me after the intro en there was no sound
once i put the dx9 in the command line the game worked for me.

but when i pick up Dollars the game crashes.

once you get past the lady with the gun and get to a point where you can pick up dollars from a phone boot the game just crashes ( bioshock.exe stopped responding )

so i thought ill just move on without picking up the dollars. but once i saw a dead body who also had dollars and i picked it up the game crashes again. i want to know why, maybe a file missing ? i don't want to play the game that doesn't work 100%, does anyone have a fix for it ?

my specs

vista premium 32x
amd athlon 5200+
3gb ram 800mhz
radeon hd 4870 (1gb) XXX
onboard sound with my m2n68-la (narra3)

hello, i am new to this, and i just got a new computer so i could play some of the games my other comp couldn't handle. I noticed there are 2 copies of this torrent on this site, but both of them do the same thing when i try to download them,

they go to vuse, and it looks like they are downloading, but it shows 0 seeds 0 peers, and it not only doesn't show a eta, it says its somehow downloading at 0-500 b/s never passing 1kb/s. every other game i try to download work fine, shows seeds/peers, all except this one, and the other identical torrent.... does anyone have any advice? i'd love to play this game, it just wont seem to connect to anyone, or show any peers/seeds.
