I dont think its a fake, its just HRHD (high resolution high definition) making it 700mb, but isnt someone going to post a 350mb torrent? i hardly see the need for AC3 audio when watching from my computer, mp3 streaming is more than good enough...
Dont want to use 700mb each time we download a single episode...

I'm still dl at 45%, but on a preview the resolution of this rip shows off at 624 x 352.
NOT LIKELY AN HR RIP (HR is usually 960 x 544, 960 x 528 or so)
So, if the resolution is of a 'standard' HDTV rip, the duration is ~52min. and the file size is 699MB, then there's something strange here...
By the way, the preview is of a true heroes episode, and not of a known material (s01) as far as I can tell.

It only went for an hour on tv, hence without ads, its a ~42min episode... And even if it is over 42mins, why does that mean it doubles in size? Its not an 84min episode...
Its just the quality of the audio streaming that makes it so big...

It's only ten minutes longer, not double the length and I care because at the speeds I am getting I won't get to watch it tonight (but I would it it was a size proportional to its running time).

Perhaps you could explain these "scene rules" in simple terms that those of us who don't know much about video compression can understand.

4x 20-23min = 1CD, Releases shall not be over 175mb.
3x 23-35min = 1CD, Releases shall not be over 233mb.
2x 35-50min = 1CD, Releases shall not be over 350mb.
Episodes further then 50 minutes, will follow the length rules of TXD2K5.
NOTE: Runtimes not mentioned above should fit on 1 CD i.e. 5x120mb, 6x116mb, 7x100mb etc.
or... 1x700mb. Tada.

You want to translate that into English? What does TXD2K5 mean? Is there something in the AVI spec that explains those rules? If not, why do they exist?
I can't see any technical or other reason for something to be padded out to 700 meg. 10 minutes extra at the same compression rate should work out to around 430 meg and that fits on one CD.

ffs, I didn't make the guidelines. If the groups don't follow them they get their releases nuked, period. Is it ridic that a few extra mins equal 700mb? Of course... but those are the rules. Everything has to fit on a CD-R. So 2x350 is okay... but 2x430 or more doesn't work. The only option left is one episode @ 700mb.
