Tamrys was right. There's a lot of stuff missing from the game, such as descriptions for new races, abilities, etc...

Apparently this problem is happening even for people who legitimately bought the expansion. If you've updated your base NWN2 install to the latest version(1.10) before installing MotB, the descriptions/text/voices wont work. To make it work properly, uninstall the game, then reinstall NWN2 base, but uncheck the "Check for Updates" box. Then install the expansion, and you should be good to go.
Some people are saying you have to update to 1.06 before installing MotB. I'm currently trying without updating at all. I'll post my results in a bit(this game installs soooo slowly).

I didn't want to try it much, but I installed over a 1.06 copy of NWN that I own. And yeah, I dont see any missing class icons or descriptions... after character copy the narration worked fine as well as the subsequent dialogue right away. I didnt go much farther than that.. Was the narration/dialogue immediately not working for you guys?

For me the game crashes when you travel from first area (caves) to the city. Poorly hacked exe?

It's possible.. I will try later.. but the retail for the original neverwinter had alot of bugs on release as well
Obsidian has a horrible reputation for launching with bugs

Hmm well worth a try I installed over top of 1.07 so I'll reinstall and put it on top of 1.06. I'll report back once i'm done.

OK, my issue with travel crash has nothing to do with exe (just started the game with original exe with proper image mounted). Looks like i'll have to wait for a patch or something...

Found out what happened. Game crashes at that point only if you're playing in a window. Oh, i hate Obsidian.

NWN2 is the only legally bought game I have ever owned... Because of that, I need to know if it will be a problem for me to use the pirated expansion for a legal game. Any ideas?

CarpeNoctu: Um...no. Though you might/might not be able to play online while using the expansion if the cd-key isnt valid. Or you might be able to, just not on the same server as anyone else who possesses the same cd-key. Really depends on how the uploader did things.

Click that, and wait a moment, and it should auto run the installer for the game. Then you should just be able to install the game. Then when its done, go back to your Neverwinter folder again, and double click on the file that ends in .RAR and open it, and you should see a file in there which ends in .EXE
Thats the crack. So you have to go folder where the game got installed into, (probably C:\Program Files\Atari\Neverwinter Nights 2) and then copy that crack .EXE file into that folder, and it should ask if you want to over write the original file. Say yes. Then you should be able to play.
Lemme know if you have any troubles with that.

You sad to extract the .RAR file, and look for a .EXE file
but there are two files .EXE. One named "Autorun.exe" and another "setup.exe". There are also two folders with files .EXE inside.
Can you tell me wich files is the correct to overwrite, please?

I had a HATRED that had lots of bugs. Like I could not craft items in the main campaign. Does this edition has the bugs too?

Ok, so all is well, so far it seems to work ok, I don't have any of the aformentioned bugs (missing text, missing narrations yadda yadda...) then again i'm still only at the very end of the main campaign, doesn't matter, that aside, did they change the spellcasting voices in Mask of the Betrayer or did I just get mixed up sound files? It sounds like a dub of spanish when I cast a spell... so far all I know of are Divine spells... I haven't cast any Arcane ones...
So, in a nutshell, did they change the voice-overs for the spellcasting?

Okay having an issue after DL I started new campaign and when I go for the silver shard and loot it the quest doesn't update. Not sure what to do about it so if anyone could help would be much appreciated.

I extracted the whole mask of betrayer and I only got the iso file. But when I tried to extract the htd-motb.rar I still get the iso file.
Is the htd-motb.rar the file I need to extract to get the crack or is it another file?

So. I was lucky and figured stuff out and got the game to start...created a warlock...played campaign for the first part....after killing the bear...trying to load the next area.....the town...game froze...is it just me?
wonder if I'll never get an answer... =)

Hi everybody. I just finished my download and extract it. When I attempt to install it the setup says that I do not have the NWN2 installed and close, but I have it installed! I was killing the KoS right now!

ok just downloaded, all those ppl havin difficulty with the loadup u NEED the original NW2 installed first and u can either
1) untick updats
2) go to bioware website and get the 1.10 patch for the game
thisa should fix the missing text issues and stuff
all you ppl not able to find the cracks or serial keys
1)the serial key is on the ISO file if u mount it with daemon tools and 'open' the disc on your computer and it should be in the folder
2)the crack is found the same way, just copy and paste it into the folder u installed the game into and replace the existing .exe

OK I just intall it and updait it and I start the game and it seems to work fine. But when I tried to cast a single spell the game crashed , bringing me back to windows. I tried few more times and its same ...
Any solutions maybe ??? I had a 1.10 version, I am downloading some more updaits now , hoping it will work

i own the original nwn2, which was patched to the latest 1.21, i then installed this, which down patched the version, i then re-patched it back to 1.21 and both fine without a crack running my original nwn2 disc. nice!
i suspect the same will occur with storm of zahir

I have all the games and expansions installed from here with the 2 patches getting me up to Oct 2008.
But My Toolset wont work. It didn;t work when i had this game installed either. I was hoping getting the 3rd expansion would fix it but it didn't/ I am on Vista. Any clue why i can;t get it to work?

As of April 2009 there is NO NEED for uninstalling the game /unchecking the updates.
Just install this one over your NWN2 copy, then update if necessary and enjoy the game.
no crack or fixed exe needed if you own the original game! Just use the Cd to boot
