I have done as instructed. I get a runtime error 76 path not found when using the tweaker, when I click on Sm2.0 enable? Anybody else got it running on a SM2.0 card? I have a x850xt.

mine isn't working either, didn't try finding why yet though.

This does work! I have had to load the first level before I tried using the Tweaker. The game starts but because I only have a shader model 2.0 card the graphics are corrupt. I then have the above mentioned run time error when trying to tweak to SM2.0 see #3.

this runtime error appears because your gfx card has only shader 2.0 and nothing above!, otherwise you could switch between different shader options, like 2.0 <-> 3.0 or higher... 2.0 to 1.0

Toad, Game works fine, looks crisp, but the audio is really out of sync! Gunshots and door noises are fine but all the voices are way off! Any ideas mate? All other games from you have been fine. Ta

I found the 2K forum thing too after searching google-It works on my X850 XT. I had a brief chance to try it out, it works-been on my hols for the last week so been offline! Simple copy and paste solution!

Using vista 32bit, i keep getting an error msg on startup saying "bioshock.exe has stopped working". Anyone else get this error? If so any resolution or ideas?

For some reason I clicked on vcredist_x86.exe in the root directory and let it load.
Then the game just came on !! beautiful, vunderbar!

Well, somehow through my random fiddling with files I've got it to work now. Just a quick question: It's because I only have a 2.0 shader that water doesn't display right and is only seen as a blindingly white mass, and that the some of the ground and shadows are just displayed as solid black?

I've switched up the shaderpak and now the graphics are at an acceptable level, although it isn't playing the correct dialogue for some reason.

I'm having issues with the sound - it's as if the db that indexes sound files is bullocksed up and it plays sound files at the right places, only the wrong sounds. Works perfect but all the hints/ radio cues are in wrong order. So the story dose'nt gel example in bioshere old mick the paddys supposed to be talking about rapture instead i get details of the doctor talking about surgery and making ugly people beautiful
same with when he explains about his wife and child,i get a totally diffrent audio cue again
shame realy as its perfect in every other way.
I also have some clips that run endlessly in a loop. Can make you a little crazy.

ok, now i got a prob. After the bioshock picture is done loading and i press ec bioshock starts loading. But then it maximizes and turns of with the send/dont send error report and help?

I dont think anyone is playing this game!!!! No one seems to know how to get past the patch at the end of the install. Iv seen a ton of poeple asking about this, but gez, nobody amwsers.

Here is how you beat the patch at the end of the install......
Let it install, BUT when the patch starts TURN OFF YOUR PUTER!!!!
Than just copy the crack to the folder and reg, that all...nothing fancy.
P.S. You must turn your puter back on in order to do the crack...lol

Thanks TOED. I played 2 of your directplay without any problems. This game also seems perfectly ripped to me and works fine. Audio also no problem. I can hear background music, sounds and splicers talking. However, theres a doubt. Your NFO states that only movies are ripped but i cant hear audios from diaries and transmissions from the radio. Are they ripped too? Iam using realtek onboard audio. Latest drivers and directx.

yea basically i extracted and ran the Bioshock.bat and all it did was play music and eat up my C drive i obviouslt did something wrong there any suggestions?

Sorry TOED, I don't know if you already know this problem, but some people from piratebay are having some kind of sound desync problem...
Seems that the sound files are perfect, but playing at the wrong time. Like the beggining when atlas is talking with you.. Instead of him, it appears some kind of doctor talking about you.
We already updated the sound card, and the directx files, but what we are supposed to do now?

Yeah basically i didnt loose the audio. Actually the sound files are playing at the wrong time 
(subtitles are different from the dialogues). I hope the patch will fix it. But can i apply the official patch to your "direct play" game?

OK!, i asked around, (on the net + some local boneheads) , and there are a few peeps having NO ISSUES at all... then there are some peeps having SOUND issues , and then there are some who dont know to start anything , but thats another story, and i dont really know why these sound issues appear (overhere fine!), so how can i fix something, whioh works overhere fine!... how can i do that?...

OS: Windows XP Professional SP 2
CPU: Intel C2D E6600 running stock (2.4 GHz)
RAM: 2 GB DDR 2 667 MHz
Graphics: nVidia GeForce 8800 GTS 320 mb
Motherboard: ASUS P5VD2 - VM
Sound: Onboard (SoundMAX HD Audio O)
It's only this rip of the game as far as I can tell, as the demo worked fine on my PC.

I installed the patch but nothing changed, still it plays wrong audio.
Does having it installed in a different dir will solve the problem TOED?

im also having this issue with the sound playin different to subtitles ive tried messing around with the files and folders in the sound directory but i dont really have any idea what im doing it seems to be that everyone is getting the same 'random' sounds like at the start there is a doctor speaking instead of atlas

oh you can exit that and go to the builds>release>Bioshock.exe
tahts the acutal game. if you want to play with the update, you can use FLTDOX's update crack. have fun

Ok, I'm having sound problems too....but I figured what the hell.
I do have a question though...it changed sth in my registry when i installed it...now how do I go about uninstalling the game once I'm done?
Do I just delete the folder I've unrared the game to or is there a more thorough way to go about doing it?

I would suggest turning on the subs, that way at least you'd get a bit of the story line.
Although I admit, having Audio was better, until my previous copy of Bioshock failed me and I had to make do with this one.

audio problem can be solved by de-creasing the DirectX Sound acceleration, using directX control Panel tool . or the normal dxdiag diagnostics via start menu... decrease Hardware acceleration in sound menu!!!...

UH, DISREGARD THAT.
I FOUND THE SOLUTION TO THE AUDIO ERROR:
(for vista users)
-right click on bioshock.exe
-select properties and click on the "compatibility" tab.
-under "compatibility mode" check "run this program for-" and choose Windows XP from the pull-down menu
-hit Apply or OK and PLAY.
BEWARE, THOUGH:
-Audio is out of erratically out of sync- expect a din of gibberish and noise at random times.
-The final boss sequence appears to be missing (ie, you can defeat Atlas, but it will take you right back to the Main Menu, afterward. 
)

The audio is out of sync. I'll pick up a diary and play it back, but it doesn't play right away, sometimes it will play later or earlier. The quote that Steinman says when you go see him plays in the beginning part of the game way before you face him. The radio messages are delayed as well, I sometimes hear them even after I've done the level. Other than that this is a good release, I've had no other problems.
I have Windows XP Home, a Core 2 Duo E4500, 2GB RAM, GeForce 7600GT, Realtek onboard audio (w/latest drivers), and just two speakers.
I think others are having this problem, and I think it's only in this release, I'm not sure if you've encountered this before.

So the intro was great, but when I went past the part of Andrew Ryan talking @ the beginning there is supposed to be the guy talking about you coming down but instead I am hearing the audio from the dr.steinman (1st boss) and when I pick up the radio im hearing some other audio from i don't know where, I've heard this asked by 2 different people, yes I have the right rig, everything is perfect EXCEPT the audio is from points further in the game that have nothing to do with me trying to run away from the lady with hooks for hands and have the secruity cam hit it, please HELP!

It looks like this rip doesn't work with Realtek audio codecs.
Most of the people who don't have problems have SoundBlaster or similar cards.
I'm definitely not going to buy a new sound card just for this game. So either there has to be a solution or this rip is broken and needs to be taken down.

I tried "can you run it" and i have all the recomended spec.
As soon as i click on "start bioshock" i see the TOED thing and then it just takes me to the desktop after i pressed Esc.

I recently switched to Vista32Bit
If you are having problems then you need to go to the 2K website. Search the bioshock forum for details on how to run the game in Dx9 mode/worked for me.

Toed, you did stalker clear sky direct play, and i got it. but when ever i clicked makedesktopicon with the one eyed dude thing on and the thing popped up, and i clicked play, like in a split second the it the thing that said play, would dissapear and nothing would happen do you have a solution for this, thanks.
