Wise_guy i think it's annoyance due to the fact that the comments are suppose to be pertaining to the torrent and it's playability/reliability/and so on. There is a forum for people to ask for stuff. Though I've been guilty of it, I look at the comments to find out if it's worth the time.

Hey I followed all the instructions for Daemon Tools but when I actually the main program itself... it just locks up after the splash screen.
I get stuck with a full-whited out window and I'm then unable to close any of the daemon programs through any means besides restarting.
I'm on WinXP with an AMD Athlon XP 2800+ 2.09ghz, 7600GS 512mb with 1gb of ram.

I assume that all of you who got this to work have a fully paid version of DT-Pro 4.10 so you had no problems creating an IDE adapter. I cannot and the version + patch that came with this download is not allowing me to create one.
it gives me an error message saying that the driver is not intended for this platform. then when i hit finish the program seems to lock up for a coupld minutes and gives me a device problem 1.
i checked the DT forums and those who have posted about this same issue are told that they dont have customer tags and thats why it doesnt work, but no solution was given. any ideas?

DT Pro cant be running at all when you patch it. Go to your task manager and close all of its processes. That was the only problem I had cuz I didnt uncheck the "start now" after installing. You cant start DT until after you patch it.
So no, I'm not paying for diddle. Followed the instructions, (with a little thought) and got it going in under 10 minutes.
If you cant even get DT running, you should probably just give up and wait for a crack.xD.
And it wont work on 64 bit platforms.

This is my 2nd downloaded game from Dopeman, he's the man
The set-up is great, it doesn't require you to figure out how to extract, install etc like some torrents. Sorry, but I'm no computer whizz so IDE etc is all new to me so Dopemans instructions were superb.
I'm having the same problems mounting that a couple of people mention, as soon as I try to mount the 'NS-TW_SS-poseden.mds'to the IDE drive my machine completely freezes, can't even ctr-alt-delete.
I'm about to try the SPTD 1.51 beta as suggested by ctbmd see if that works. Will update you.
P.S. I'm using T7200 2.0 GHz, 2GB Ram, NVidia Go 7600 GT (256 MB), Windows XP Media Home Edition.
I know I've followed all the instructions correctly because Dopeman's instructions are so easy to follow, Cheers Dopeman :o)

COMPUTER CRASH WHEN MOUNT FILE TO IDE DRIVE - FIX
Yipee! As per previous post, I tried the update recommended by ctbmd (see post 51 for details and link) and it worked! Prior to installing that update computer had consistently crashed when I mounted the 'NS-TW_S-poseden.mds file to the IDE Drive. I installed the update on the link suggested by ctbmd, rebooted and hey presto, mounted file first time. No idea what the problem is or why worked or what problem was but thank you ctbmd, game is now working.

Patch is not a virus, update your anti-v. This have been covered in many forums already.
If you are still not sure, contact your Anti-V software.
They will direct you how to zip the file, send it to them and they will test for you with results. Been done already.

Thanks for the help before, that got the IDE to load but now I am having problems whenever i restart my computer. I played the game all day without issue and turned it off with my computer for the night, the next day i turned my computer back on and then mounted the MDS file again in order to play but then it says that it needs me to insert the dvd.
The only way i have gotten it to work is to uninstall DT-PRO and reinstall it two or three times until the uninstall actually asks me to reboot when it is done, then when i reinstall DT-pro the next time it restarts then it works fine and i can play the game again. But now im going to have to do it every day my computer gets rebooted. is this happening elsewhere?

If the game doesn't start this is often a problem with your videocard. (NVIDEA). Download the newest driver for your videocard. Older versions like 6200 do have 256 MB memory, but they will only run (in new games) with the newest driver. Greets farao

If your game crashes when you run the launcher try moving the game from your default download folder to c:/program files/

Got it running.
runs fairly smoothe MAX settings so far on a 7800 GTX and Athlon 3700 OC'ed @ 2.6GHz. Only on the videos does it get a tad choppy at times.

i fixed the (Unable to add adapter. Device problem 28) error by doing the following :
1- uninstall all the virtual drive programs (Alcohol 120, Magic ISO ... etc)
2- restart your PC
3- install DTpro following the steps that comes with it.
i also fixed the crash problem that happens after trying to launch the game by moving game directory to program files, so the launcher.exe path should be "C:\Program Files\The Witcher\launcher.exe"
now everything is working fine

There is just a little bug in the daemon.tools.pro.patch.exe when you use it with a Windows Version that uses an other language than english. Here's how you do it.

I even went to program files and made sure it was gone like he said, restarted and then installed DTPRO, put the patch in the folder and when I try and start it up is stays at the mini square in the midde of the screen saying DLPro advanced edition (vesion/copyright etc...). And an error pops up saying "The Application is Corrupted" I have even tryed clicking the box at the end of the the instalation to say it wont outo start after re-doing the process. If anyone knows what do you please email me at hockey_player18@hotmail.com. Or post here, I will be checking everyday. Thanks for the time and effort.

Umm, so yeah... First of all there's a couple problems with your installation process here dopeman...
1) There is no regsetup.exe, and even if there was it wouldn't work. You need to rename the regsetup.txt file to regsetup.reg
2) Where the hell is the launcher? I did a search on the witcher directory and there isn't a single exe file in it. Kind of strange no?
Anyone wana fill me in on what i might be missing?

Yeah, never mind i just went into the file archive and found that somehow i missed about 50% of the files... Doesn't make much sense since there wasn't any kind of error and i was just copying over the entire directory... ohh well.

Hi,I have the craziest problem.
I use this version of the game with the russian crack and no DT.Game starts, we kill the first guys and when that dude asks me how i fell keyboard and mouse stop functioning.Game doesn't freeze cause guys and shadows are moving.I installed 1.1 patch tried both exe and launcher but in vain.Anyone seen this ? Maybe I could load the game but from where to get saved games?

the new nocd crack only seems to work with russian versions, because this has the languages cut out i'm guessing that's why it freezes after the first fight with no speech, any fixes on this dman, loads a squillion times quicker with the nocd than te image...

Wait, I found a solution but i don't know if is for all. (sorry for my english).1. Make all the README of the torrent writes!!!The new things that i make are:
1.Move the Folder "The Witcher" from the zip file of the torrent to

Yaeh, this worked so smooth for me! Just had to update my drivers for the RADEON. many thanks.
However i wonder if it's recommendable to download and install the official patches that are coming? Any thoughts on that? I heard that they will improve loading time and honestly it takes some time between the scens... That is due to The Witcher, rather than the Dopeman though.

dt pro slows my system down to a crawl for some reason, have been using the mini image with dt pro to play the game, and some exterior levels were taking upto 8 mins to load!! Installed the nocd crack (russian) yesterday and disabled dt pro and the same level loaded in about a minute. Unfortunately the nocd crack doesn't work properly, gets stuck after the inital fight.

So close i can smell it! Everything except installing 'Windows6.0-KB940105-x86.msu' when i clicked that i got "Installer encountered an error:
0x80070026" "reached the end of the file" so that didnt work. when i launch it i get these errors

the witcher\system\miles\mssdsp.flt
the witcher\system\miles\msseax.flt
the witcher\system\miles\msssrs.flt is either not designed to run on windows or it contains an error. try installing the program again using the orig. install. media or contact your sys. admin. or soft. vendor for support.
i get that that error for everyone of those files rite in a row. everything with daemon tools went fine. it even shows that its reading the fixed image after i click on the launch button. any idea's? support the sceen dont be a bahamma mamma! peace! ps thanks again dopeman genius

To make this crack work I had to move my files to \Program Files folder (didn’t have to be in C:\Program Files) it worked on one of my partitions in the Program files folder; for example N:\Program Files\The Witcher
Most importantly the game must be started from the launcher.exe file NOT the witcher.exe file

OK, just a tip for people who haven't got the download yet:
Using WinRAR *may* not work for extracting the .7z file. I tried about three times and was missing about half the content. Use 7Zip instead, which is available for download here: http://www.7-zip.org/
Not sure why this happens, but 7Zip works fine.

It seems some people have not read the instructions correctly. For those who have said they have mounted the image and nothing happens, well read the instructions fully! It does not say start up and install, you must run the DirectX setup, then install the Microsoft runtime update, and then go to The Witcher folder and run regsetup.exe.
THENNNN, double-click launcher to run the game.

I've done all that AzNChicken but when I double click the launcher nothing happens. I was able to get it running on an xp computer but didn't met the minimum and the graphics looked messed. So the files are complete but I must be doing something wrong in vista that won't let the launcher open. I'm logged as the administrator FYI.

If you ever get no/wrong disk error and if no patch is supplied with game try a Google search no-cd patch/crack gameburnworld.com usually have them.
But most of Dopemans uploads have a crack with the game if needed (read the nfo.*. file by right clicking and open with notepad and instructions are there.

For those who still wonder about the size ill explain, its all about the compression used...when you take the game out of the rar(or 7-zip) the game will have no more no less then 7.32G...yep compressed to more than half of its original size.
The game works fine if you just follow the instructions step by step.
Very cool game, the only problem about it, is the loading time.
This torrent already has EVERYTHING you need, daemon tools etc etc etc.
And it has all the steps in a txt.
If you know how to read, you can play this in no time.

for all who've managed to get the game to work:
1. are ya'll using the russian crack to get the game to work or the mounting method??
2. if using the crack, does ur game load without a glitch??
i personally am using the game wit the crack & have found tat every time i load into a new level, the main charactre (Geralt) gets stuck. so i have to save, quit to main menu & load bk to get him to move....
also after givin triss the potion the game does not load into the next lvl/phase..
3. the mounting part did not work for me as it still asked for the original disk..
i sure wish dopeman could take some time off & answer a few of these questions...

As per the text file included in the torrent, I followed the instructions down to the last word, but I've been unable to find success with the Daemon Tools Pro version included in the torrent. The option to add a virtual IDE drive is greyed out in the Daemon Tools agent in the quicktask bar. When I try opening the Daemon Tools Pro window itself, the window whites out and my system crashes. An error I think is similar to xlucidx in comment 49?
When I try to troubleshoot by installing a different version of Daemon tools (DT 4.10), I will instead get a "Please insert orignal Witcher dvd" error message. I've tried the setup at least 10 times already to no avail some help please?

For those who are having different problems when playing the game (freezes, lock-ups) open your witcher folder go to system and open 'player.ini' then erase the line 'Disable autosave = 1'
Apparently, it was disabled to make loading times quicker (avoiding autosaves) but it also presented numerous problems.
Try it, worked for me

why is there so many bugs ?

i was having the language problem, and i follow your instruction:
copy the file dtpro.dat from the all users, application data ... to the all users.... in my case Datos de programas instead of application data and DT works fine...
