Whenever I try to open the game, a window prompt appears notifying me to please insert Vice City PLAY disc. I tried inserting both blank and used disks and even burned all the data to a new disc but the same problem keeps cropping up. Can some1 please help me.

there is two *.iso files those files burning as image with "alcohol" or "nero" maybe, with 1 of those you install the game and with the other cd is for play.

Oh, sorry for the double post.
But I figured it out.
All you have to do is not move the vice city icon from your folder.
If you just start the game from in the folder where you get it not on your desktop it will work.

hi. The game works fine. Keyboard, visuals, radio stations are all good. The problem I have is that the mouse doesn't work. I can move it around during the menu section, but can't click on things. And when I play, the mouse doesn't even work at all. Some advice to fix it thx.

tranx581, I had that same problem too. You just have to mess around in the config. section for a while till you get the left/right/up/down to work. I did it and now it works perfectly. Thanks for the upload!!

Hmmm...I'm messing around with the controller setup in the game and the mouse works just fine in the menu section but I can't scroll and rotate or do anything with it in the game.

Hey Guys, I was wondering if you can help me here,
When i downloaded this, i only picked GTA_Vice_City.iso
and i burned it to a cd and i installed it perfectly, but when i copy'd
the crack into the folder after installation, it still said i dont have the cd in the drive. What am i doing wrong?
Do i have to burn the play-cd in order for it to work? if so, the crack is useless.....
I just downloaded daemon tools, and im new to it.
So what does mounting an image mean?
Anyway im just here downloading the play cd, hope it will work with the crack.

the game works perfectly, albeit after a little trouble getting past the 'insert cd' problem. however, the only remaining problem is that like 'LukieWukie' mentioned there are no basic sound effects, besides the radio and the movie sequences.
does anyone know how to fix this?

i have mounted the GTA_Vice_City.iso then wheninstalling the radio stations
do i still have to finish the installation process before i unmount GTA vice city.iso?

worked perfectly for me to i believe. Also guys if your in the need for GTA VC multiplayer download VC-MP or Multi-theft-auto, i go with VC-MP but the game crashes alot online, something about any user who pauses it while in the server (if pause enabled) crashes you and the people in the server. so far i say if your looking to be driving around with no NPC's in a ghost town with your friends or just some strangers, or attempt a awkwardly controlled feeling Death match, then this is your deal. theres also RPG servers, where u can draw for the lottery, grow pot, sell pot, buy cars n other stuff. To cheaply put together to be a real nice RPG online, BUT giver a try, it will extend VC's life time on ur computer till u crash 50 times. Cheers m8's -Greave

when in the game (menus included) it seems to constantly go left. when in gameply hes always running to the side like im holding A and ive messed around with the controller config and cant seem to work this out. its the same deal in the menus, it keeps scrolling through different things without me doing anything.

Works great. If anyone gets an "unhandled exception", try going to the properties of your Vice City folder in Program Files, unchecking "Read Only", and click apply then ok. That's what solved the problem for me.

HOW TO DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL (my own success story)
1. Download :p
2. Download MagicISO
3. Rightclick on the icon in bottom right and click and go to "set number of drives" and set it to 2
4. Then go to Virtual CD/DVD-ROM right above it and select the first drive and mount.. search for the file that you downloaded and mount it.
5. Repeat this with the other file that is the "play" file
6.Now go to the drives by clicking on computer and then click on the install one.
7. It will install and halfway through ask for the second CD
8. Choose the path by simply typing in the Drive name (ex jin which the file with "play" at the end of it.

ok, this is instructions to making this game work
1.download it (it takes like 3 minuets to download)
2.mount the images using nero or daemon
3.once the mount finishes for BOTH iso's put the disk in first that says vice city on it. at the half way point it will ask for u to put in the vice city play disk put the second disk in.
4.once it finishes instaling copy the crack that was givin in the download
5.cut and paste the crack into the install directory.
6.play with the crack always play with the crack.

Ok, Reading these comments, i suspect many of you are new.
First note:
THERE ARE NO VIRUSES. That is called a false positive, it is what your scanner is picking up. Now most things you download from a torrent site get these. A LOT of them.
Second note:
If you are getting a "No CD" Error, Your crack is not working. The crack should make it so you do NOT need a cd. Find a working one. One nice and helpful person supplied a link near the top.

You need to mount the iso files. Get something like daemon tools, or whatever to mount it to a virtual drive. This will let you install the game, BUT ONCE IT IS INSTALLED, YOU DO NOT NEED THE CD ANYMORE.
Unless of course you plan to reinstall, but all it does is give you the game install, so then you may play, ONLY if you have a working crack.
Fourth and LAST NOTE:*******IMPORTANT********
Grand Theft Auto games for PC have a VERY common thing to happen to the audio - It breaks. This was the exact same problem in San Andreas. WHAT YOU DO TO FIX THIS- The first thing you do is: Start>Run>DXDIAG This brings up a DirectX control panel. From here, click the Sound tab. Then go down to Hardware Acceleration and lower it to none. OR(Unknown theory) Vice City(Unlike San Andreas) May allow you to lower hardware acceleration from the game. Go in audio settings, and try to find it.

2nd: Nice download.
3rd: For those of you who get the "PLEASE INSERT VICE CITY PLAY DISC OR CLICK ESC TO CANCEL" follow the post by uhhplanb (comment 90). Since magic iso does work but you have to set the first .iso file with 2 drives, then it will ask you to insert the second cd.
4th: The little problem I had was the lawyer friend who appears like a green shadow on the first mission cutscene.

Having alot of trouble getting this thing to start, I already know how to use cracks, but when I try to start the game, I keep getting a "unhandled exception" error message.
I have tried using new cracks, un-installing, and re-installing the game, and un-checking "read only", but still, no luck.

You don't have to burn games onto cd roms or dvd roms to install and play unless you have vista and are having problems with the drivers for your ISO files.
I have found a suitable work-around for this as well and it is possible, for anyone having this problem. If you need to install the game, F8 is the keystroke apon start up. Other than that, there is a work-around that can be installed but it will mess with your start up images; cycling through the driver check disabling text and what not.
But it is possible to have it easily done at this point, until someone figues out how to disable it entirely, that is.
IF YOU ARE THINKING OF BURNING THE GAME FOR USE ON AN XP SYSTEM: Think twice, first try an ISO image reader like alcohol 120 or ultraISO or powerISO first. This will eliminate the need for the burn by setting up an imaginary drive on the pc.

Download was fast. Everything works to perfection.
Running on Vista.
Okay, for those people who are having problems:
1. Mount The first ISO (not the play one), and start installation.
2. Mount second ISO, when prompted. If an error box pops up, just keep clicking it until it goes away.
3. When installation is finished, open the play ISO and go intot eh "crack" folder. Copy the crack to your wherever you installed the game on your computer.
4. Make a desktop shortcut, and play.
Everything should work. There are no problems with this. The sound works, the controls work, everything is b'seder.

Also, I forgot to make clear, mount the second ISO when prompted by unmounting the first one, and putting the second one in its place.
Also, I forgot to mention that the best program to use to mount ISO's, BINs, and every other image is MagicISO. Daemon Tools and Alcohol 120% look fancier, but for people new to torrent, those are entirely too complicated. MagicISO is simple, and it works every time.
