Release Notes:

Oscillating arpeggios and slave labour collide on this debut
album from half Egyptian, Devon-raised singer songwriter
Gregory. A Royal College of Music graduate, there's more than
a hint of the kind of prodigious skill you would expect from
somebody who has had ample time to spend in empty classrooms
with baby grand pianos.

Third person narratives are a strong point of Gregory's style.
India, China breaches the topic of Far Eastern sweatshops
without too much preaching as Gregory guiltily muses, ''As I'm
eating my dinner, the girl I won't meet is making five hundred
shirts and long skirts with a pleat''. Elodie is the heroine
of a nefarious tale that could have come from the pen of Pat
Barker or Jean Rhys. ''Elodie doesn't like the man her mother
invited to stay/ Elodie says she makes him angry, so she stays
out of his way''. The vignette is crisply addressed by Gregory
over the top of some ebullient piano riffs with just the right
amount of cagy menace.

Nothing else on the rest of the album comes close to this
marriage of melody and bridled rage but it's the arrangements
verging just on the right side of the scholarly that regularly
come to the rescue of some of the more irritating lyrics which
reach an embarrassing nadir on Stars where, coming across like
Lilly Allen's whiney older sister, Gregory tells us of her
days spent ''pouring out the granola, measuring the cost/ I'm
not counting calories, just all the years I?e lost''.

Ultimately - despite the odd lyrical own goal - Gregory?
endearing skittishness, vehement voice and lyrical subjects
which ensure that this has too much of an abrasive edge to
become dinner party music.

Description:

A majority of the dogs behave, except two: boxer Bella and pit bull mix Big Boy. Can he balance this company and its pack of unruly pooches or is he in for a "ruff" day at the office?

I never watch a dubbed version of a movie (especially French Italian or German - since I can much better follow along somewhat) when i can get the original language version and with appropriate English subtitles. speaking of which I had to use a somewhat older video conversion program I bought from Divx.com (version 6.2.1) as the current version is not yet subtitle functional it would appear after much time wasting in failed conversion attempts.

This is a lovely conversion and even displays the subtitles when played on a computer (or divx compatible disc player of course) with Divx player 6.4 installed.
The resolution of this conversion is 720 X 384 and shows a lovely picture indeed!
Audio is at full 128k bit rate.

By the way I am terribly gratified that the Divx versions of The Remains of the day and Sense and Sensibility i released into the bittorrent atmosphere a few weeks ago are going great! We especially have had great seed support with sense and Sensibility. I hope White Mischief will pick up some more soon as it is a lovely movie, abandoned quite clearly by an arrogant movie industry inane in its decision making across the board.

La vita e bella (I donated several copies of this DVD to our local library a year ago by the way, along with many copies of Sense and Sensibility at the time too) is a truly important movie as it deals with the limits of escapism in our daily lives. The engagement with reality that is displayed by Benigni's character is always it would seem at odds with the facts as they are told by an honest observer willing to be frank and even brutal with honesty when the circumstances demand. It gives his son especially a much different view of where he is in the world towards the end of the movie and the harsh realities of the sorts of people that you might encounter in the situation that was present in the second world war era, or even recently with such types as Stalin and Pinochet that have followed Hitler's example in some measure.
