Im on holiday at the moment, 4 weeks off paid muhhhaha! Ive been putting my spare time to good use... buyin & mixin up records and getting hi! Ive recently picked up ohmega watts latest single its amazin bring on the lp! Ive also included cuts from the debut maspyke album which is quality too. J-dilla's (RIP) final lp is a mixed bag some unbelievably strong tracks (E=MC2 ft common) punctuating a fairly average lp... naturally the best tracks are included here...
I didn't think i would be listening to finnish produced hip hop this year, but Recluse Crew have hooked up with some US emcees ie. Synoptic pressure, their lp Art of Raw sound is essential, really strong lp produced in a Dj Premier Style (check the track Who I am).
Dont know about you guys but im lookin forward to chrome children on wax, there's some nice madlib produced tracks on there. His collabo's with MF Doom and Percee P being the stand outs for me... Ive been lucky enough to get tickets to see Madlib, PB Wolf, J-Rocc & Percee P at the chrome children party in manchester (@music box) next wednesday 4th October cant wait for that shit!!! Last time I caught Madlib and J-Rocc in manchester the beat junkie stole the show with his amazin deck skills... that guy can juggle!
Mix 34 60mins ripped in VBR MP3
Tracks:
1) Maspyke - No big deal
2) J-sands - Southern Lady

In its decade-plus run, Duck Down Records has released some priceless Hip Hop albums. Headed by Buckshot (Black Moon's front man) and Dru Ha, the label is home to some of Hip Hops heavyweights such as the Boot Camp Clik, comprised of groups Black Moon, Heltah Skeltah, O.G.C., and Cocoa Brovaz (Smif-n-Wessun).
For all their success, Duck Down and Black Moon continue to live through the community from where it was birthed. They readily perform in front of youth summer camps, correctional facilities, public parks, and events throughout the tri-state area.
"[What we do] I would say is dark hip-hop," says Buck. "But our style is versatile and we're spread out....
This mix is focussed upon Blackmoon for the most part with a little Smiff n Wessun in there for good measure... Ive crammed in most of my favourites off of:

Details for The Roots - Hip Hop mix 41 by Evil Dave Created by evildave333 6 hours ago Music : Hip-Hop / Rap : MP3/Over 256Kbps
The Roots' original lineup included Tariq "Black Thought" Trotter(MC) and Ahmir "?uestlove" Thompson (drums), who were classmates at thePhiladelphia High Schoolfor Creative Performing Arts. As they began to play at school and onthe streets, they added a bassist named Josh "The Rubberband" Abrams, who went on to form the Jazz group The Josh Abrams Quartet. They lateradded another MC named Malik Abdul Basit-Smart, a new bassist LeonardNelson Hubbard, and a keyboardist Scott Storch. Another MC, Kid Crumbs, was a part of the group for their first album, Organix, but did notappear on any later albums. Another MC, DiceRaw, joined on for cameos in later albums. Scott Storch also left topursue a producing career following the Do You Want More?!!!??! album, though the split was on amicable terms, and Storch continues to producetracks for Roots albums to this day. The Roots filled his void withanother keyboardist, Kamal Gray, who is still a member.
A beatboxer named Rahzel also joined the group and contributed from1995-1999. Alongside Rahzel was vocal turntablist Scratch, who DJ'd forthem during live concerts. He abruptly left in 2003. Malik B. left thegroup in 1999 due to drug problems but continued to record, makingoccasional cameos on future albums. A guitarist, Ben Kenney, had ashort stint with the group and contributed to their Phrenology album, but left to join Incubus. A percussionist, Knuckles, was added in 2002and guitarist, Kirk Douglas (a.k.a. "Captain Kirk") replaced Kenney. Avocalist, Martin Luther, toured with The Roots in 2003 and 2004 andcontributed to their Tipping Point album. The current members of TheRoots are Black Thought (MC), ?uestlove (drums), Hub (bass), Kamal(keyboard), Knuckles (percussion), and Captain Kirk (guitar).
Mix 41 featres tracks off the following roots lp's...
Organix
The group's original lineup was formed in Philadelphia around 1987.They began to do shows around Philly and in 1992 or 1993 left toperform in Europe. They rented out a flat in London and performed inEurope for approximately one year. In order to sustain themselvesfinancially, The Roots released what would be known as their debutalbum: Organix. The album went on to sell about 150,000 copies.Following the release of Organix, several major record labelsoffered deals, and the band signed with DGC Records, which at the timewas better known for its grunge music releases. With their new record deal, the quintet travelled back to the states.
Do You Want More?!!!??!
The Roots' first album for DGC, Do You Want More?!!!??! (recordedlive without the use of samples), was a moderate hit on alternativeradio. Also lauded for its jazziness, the album was equal parts jazzimprov/instrumentation and rap music. It just reached gold status in2005, with sales of 501,000 copies.
Illadelph Halflife
The 1996 release Illadelph Halflife was the group's first album tocrack the Top 40 on Billboard's album chart, spurred in part by MTV'sairplay of the video for "What They Do" (a parody of rap video clichés)and "Clones," which was their first to single to reach the top five onthe rap charts. While continuing on the path of live instrumentation, the album's sound was somewhat darker and the band begun integratingprogrammed drums and samples into their sound. It was also The Roots'first album to include prominent guests, such as Common on "UNIverse AtWar", D'Angelo and Erykah Badu on "Hypnotic" and Q-Tip on "Ital (TheUniversal Side)."
Things Fall Apart
Despite rumors of a possible break up, they stayed together andreleased Things Fall Apart in 1999 (named after Things Fall Apart, anovel by Chinua Achebe). This was their breakthrough album sales-wise,peaking at #4 on the Billboard 200 charts and earning a gold record, signifying U.S. sales of at least 500,000 units.

mix 58 j-live
Here's a fine selection of tracks from one of hip hop's greatest producer's.... J-Live is the the shit, I caught him live in Manchester & Liverpool and both times he killed it. The last time i saw him was at the Roadhouse and he was juggling tracks on the decks whilst freestyle MCing over the beat he was making, it was a privilege to be there that night. That shit is impressive some kind of pat your head whilst rubbing you're tummy type shit nuff respect due...
If you dont own the The Best Part, All of the Above, Always has been & Reveal the secret you really should, quintessential underground hip hop no question... If you have not heard J-live before this mix will be a real treat ;)
