Laura (Belén Rueda) en haar gezin keren terug naar het weeshuis waar Laura het gelukkigste deel van haar jeugd heeft doorgebracht. Met haar terugkeer heropent ze het weeshuis om zo kansarme kinderen te kunnen helpen. Maar eenmaal in het weeshuis begint het gedrag van haar eigen zoontje Laura te beangstigen. Hij bedenkt een onzichtbare vriend en begint vreemde spelletjes te spelen.
