Description:
This video promotes the Broadcast Television Engineering Technology program at Napa Valley College, a California Community College. This two-year program trains aspiring broadcast/media engineers. The program is certified by the Society of Broadcast Engineers.
This video presents information on the program in the context of a fictional drama. About 25 students participated in the making of this video and its all-English version, including students from a film/TV acting class on campus.
All dialog between the two main characters is in Spanish; all other dialog is in English.
IMPORTANT: Those wanting to view this video on a computer running Microsoft Windows should use the VLC media player.
For more information, see the SMPTE Student Chapter 11 web site.
Unfortunately, the program, which ran for decades, was cancelled by Napa Valley College at the end of the Spring 2011 semester. You may still wish to view the video in order to get an idea of what studying broadcast engineering would be like.
