Description:
Dead.net has a section onsite called "Tapers Section," where David Lemieux, their tape archivist since 1999, releases 4 - 8 *.mp3s weekly with written commentary. Well, now all the tracks released are streaming-only, so this is a collection, from what I understand, of all *.mp3s released by Lemieux on the Tapers Section before they rolled over into streaming-format. 390 tracks. Tons of gems.
Tracks are titled track_name_date or gd_track_name_date. (Date referring to playing date, not release date.) Lemieux's comments for each track can be found on Dead.net's Tapers Section.
If you're a head, since it'll be difficult to sort through the weekly volumes to find commentary on a particular song, consider viewing one of Lemieux's weekly commentaries and listening to the songs discussed, instead of trying to find discussion around the song you picked out. (Read Lemieux's comments, then play the track-- instead of playing the track, and trying to find Lemieux's comments for reading).
