What a quirky life this little franchise has had.
One minute you're a couple of game designers with the insane idea of using digitized martial artists for a new title that 'll hopefully gets a small piece of the arcade action that the Street Fighter 2 juggernaut has dominance over, the next you're sitting in front of Congress and the world, explaining that while your game is graphic it shouldn't lead to any impressionable minds trying to say: rip off their faces, spit out a wall of fire and kill someone.
For the record, after marathon matches with my high school buds, the only thing that ever got any real world fatalities were the odd Sega or Snes controllers after a crushing defeat...
From there it's a hop, skip and flying kick on to two movies (1st one - full of awesome, 2ND one - not so much), a Saturday morning cartoon on the USA network back when they were worth watching, a short lived live action TV show that came on after Monday Nitro, even a line of action figures came out for the kiddies.
All of this franchise goodness held tightly together by a loyal fan base of gamers (Jimmy included) that still buys this year's model whenever a new game drops even though the magic ain't what it used to be.

All of this starts and ends with an audio rip of Mortal Kombat the Journey Begins and WAV SFX files from the first MK that were upped by others before the first near fatality of Demonoid.
