Mais, alors qu’il fait une démonstration de sa dernière invention dans le désert afghan, Stark est kidnappé par un groupuscule terroriste qui veut le forcer à concevoir pour eux son invention la plus meurtrière : le missile Jéricho.[/color]
[color=red]Peu à peu Stark se rend compte qu’il est le principal fournisseur d’armes des terroristes. En trompant la vigilance de ses bourreaux et avec l’aide d’un dénommé Yinsen, Tony Stark va alors construire une armure surpuissante pour s’échapper. De retour aux Etats-Unis, Tony Stark décide de faire prendre une voie totalement différente à Stark Industries, tout en concevant secrètement une version plus performante de son armure afin de lutter pour la justice.[/color][/size]
