This is the birth of a new Word, of a band with a new style, a new sound: AUMUMANA.
AUM stands for OM in Sanskrit, meaning the primordial sound, the verb; UMANA stands for HUMAN in Portuguese; So, AUMUMANA means the primordial sound that comes from humans. And the sound that comes when we speak this name reveals the word Human Soul in Portuguese.
The band was formed in late 2005, but the first show came only in early 2006. The greatest characteristics from the band are the mixtures of sounds, instruments and timbres.
All instrumentalists play more than one instrument in the band, generating a new set for each music. The influences that you can feel in our sound comes from many sources as Arabian an Indian music, Brazilian folk music, reggae, dub, rock and electronic music, but all of them with our style.
As the band doesn't choose a specific style of music to play, the sound that comes from these musicians is original yet accessible to the public, who sometimes are overwhelmed by the music or the theatrical performance.
Now, with the release of our first album homonym to the band, we have the chance to spread more and more our word and many people can taste and feel our music, but you will have to hear the whole album to make your assumptions.
AUMUMANA sees the music as a portal to reach and free the souls, so empty your mind and come along with us.
