Everything was set in motion for Florida's realest up-and-coming rapper Plies in 2006.
Inked up to Slip N Slide Records, he's got himself a record deal with one of the South's most thorough (and thugged out) record labels. With Real Nigga Bible set to hit shelves some time in 2007, he's already got a debut album on the way. And with his single "Got 'Em Hatin" picking up heavy radio spins, Plies has himself a major new music video about to make its way onto TV.
So with 2007 under way, the Fort Meyers, Florida native has made his way back into the mixtape circuit to show he's still Heavy In The Streets. Alongside Atlanta's heavyweight, DJ Scream, this mixtape is serving the South with The Truth.
With three previous mixtapes under his belt — one with Slip N Slide (36 Ounces), one with DJ Drama (From The Bottom To The Top) and one with DJ Smallz (The Calm Before The Storm) — Plies circles back into the mixtape game to hit the underground with his newest joint, The Truth Hurts.
His underground movement is heavy right now, and his single "Got 'Em Hatin" from Nitti (producer of Yung Joc's "It's Going Down" is holding down the streets of the South. With his new single "In Love With Money" featuring 'The King' T.I. making its way to the surface, Slip N Slide/Atlantic Records' newest Panhandle Prince is representing for the Gunshine State quite nicely.
The Truth Hurts features 20 tracks, including new music not previously found on other mixtapes, including exclusive freestyles, a couple classics, unreleased joints and the bonus track "In Love With Money" featuring T.I.
