--------------------------

Montrealer Patrick Watson was raised in the small town of Hudson, in Quebec. He is a multitalented musical artist who engineers his own music with almost fanatical attention to details, incorporating genres and styles from contemporary classical to the most recent electronica, at once both pop-oriented and improvisational.
Patrick's musical career began at age 7 in local churches. He has studied classical and jazz piano performance, arranging and . composition. Currently 25, Patrick has been a part of 7 CD releases, including 2 as keyboardist for Montreal's high octane ska-jazz group Gangster Politics, with whom he embarked on a national tour that included Montreal's prestigious International Jazz Festival. He also released a cooperative project with photographer Brigitte Henry. Together the two completed a project entitled Waterproof/ Portrait sous l'eau, a book/CD concept which was recognized by the Toronto based Roloff Beny Foundation with an award for the most innovative photography book in Canada.

Patrick Watson's band is comprised of some of Montreal's most talented musicians. Simon Angell on guitar, Mishka Stein, Bass and Robbie Kuster on drums have been collaborating and touring with Patrick for over five years.

Patrick Watson's latest CD, Just Another Ordinary Day, brought Patrick and his band to tour all over Canada, the United States, Scandinavia, and Europe. Some highlights included a performance at the renowned Kiasma Museum of Contemporary Art in Helsinki, A performance in Paris at Le Palais des Congres with the legendary James Brown, a concert at The Spectrum in Montreal with The Dears as well as the Opening Slot for the Montreal Jazz Festival in front of a crowd of over 150,000 enthusiastic people.

The Album illustrates a shift from the Ambient to the Melodic and is a forty-five minute fall into a string of nine tracks that is ultimately held together by its cinematic thread. With the web site (www.patrickwatson.net) which was specifically created for the Album, along with the trailer, he is also refining the multimedia aspect of the project. "One of my major influences in my music is actually film. When I think about writing music I think more like I'm making a movie." Patrick says, "But it is just the beginning...meanwhile, you can enjoy the new album and your imagination will do the work."
