Concert choir of I.O. Dunaevsky song and dance ensemble of St. Petersburg Youth Creativity Palace occupies a special place among multitude of St. Petersburg choir collectives. This is because all participants (age ranging from 12 to 16 years old) go through professional voice staging and development studies. Along with solo singing practice, choir participants develop their theoretical knowledge in solfeggio and piano classes.
This level of professional training is due to the fact that concert choir is a part of a powerful collective, together with symphony orchestra, choreography group and drama art group – the famous I.O. Dunaevsky song and dance ensemble uniting over 1000 kids and 70 teachers.
Created in 1938 by the initiative of distinguished Soviet composer I.O. Dunaevsky, for almost seventy years, this collective keeps carrying powerful energy and professionalism charge, given by its founder. Concert choir holds regular performances on best St. Petersburg concert stages. The collective also has annual tour program.
