Paramore [pronounced "Per-a-mour"] is an American pop rock band that formed in Franklin, Tennessee in 2002. Despite several lineup changes, Paramore primarily consists of Hayley Williams [lead vocals], Josh Farro [lead guitar/backing vocals], Jeremy Davis [bass], and Zac Farro [drums] for the records in their career. Influenced by the likes of Jimmy Eat World and Sunny Day Real Estate, the band has developed thier own pop punk, power pop, and emo sound. Frontwoman Hayley Williams and lead guitarist Josh Farro are the group's primary songwriters. Paramore released their debut 'All We Know Is Falling' in 2005, gaining a fanbase through touring and internet promotion. However, in 2007, the band has gained mainstream notoriety with their second album release 'Riot'.

'Riot' is the second release from the band Paramore, and was released in the United States on 12th June 2007 and in the United Kingdom on 25th June 2007. The album was recorded in New Jersey with producer David Bendeth. The band decided to call the album Riot because they liked its definition: "A sudden outburst of uncontrolled emotion". Riot sold about 44,000 albums in the U.S. in its first week, debuting at number No. 20 on the Billboard 200. Nearly 3 months later, it rose to No.15 for the Billboard week dated September 1st 2007. That same week, the lead single, 'Misery Business' bolted to No.34 as a re-entry on the Hot 100. 'Riot' also achieved success in the UK and reached No. 24 on the albums chart. A music video for the lead single was filmed on April 15th 2007 in Los Angeles, and features a school and a band performance. It is directed by Shane Drake who also directed the videos for 'Pressure' and 'Emergency'.
